LSI survey: the public's trust in the CUP Down
VIVAnews -research institutes and scientific research Indonesia Survey Circle (LSI) in its survey found that public trust against the corruption eradication Commission (KPK) declined sharply. According to those results is one of the portraits of the performance of the community's disappointment of anti corruption.
"Only 41.6 percent of respondents who believe the existing corruption COMMISSION can indiscriminately even though it involves a character or party in power. This figure shows a considerable minority of public trust against the CUP, "said Adjie Alfaraby, researcher in the Office of LSI, LSI Rawamangun, East Jakarta, Sunday August 7, 2011.
The survey itself was done using two research methods at once. The first is a quantitative research data collection, beginning in June 2011 with the menunggunakan method of quantitative research (survey), consisting of a multistage random sampling method, to do the interviews face-to-face with a questionnaire to 1,200 respondents and a margin of error of 2.9 percentage points. Secondly, qualitative research methods include in-depth interviews, and media analysts since the months of July and August 2011.
Based on that, LSI has also found that the respondents were satisfied over the handling of corruption cases against COMMISSION Affairs currently only 29,7 percent. In General, they note, the descent of this belief is due to a weak COMMISSION in cases related to power.
"For the General case, the CUP is believed to still work according to the task. Only if the case concerns the character or the governing party, KPK doubtful integrity, "he said.
This explains the results of different Adjie much with survey in 2005 when the public still put hope in the CUP. Within six years, hope it continues to experience a downturn.
"2005 public trust against the KPK diangka 58,3 per cent. Compared to 2005, the trust of KPK slumped about 17 percent, "he said.
From these surveys, obtained four reasons why the deterioration that has occurred. CCA First, the existence of a decline in courage by KPK in the handling of corruption specifically related to the ruler.
Second, the head of KPK is seen already have tersub-by power. "For example is a case of the Century, up until now has not been definitely settled. There is a public perception of not just a matter of case Century bailout but there is a covert agenda from that case, "said Adjie.
Third, the COMMISSION covered the legal mafia. The public believes there is a body KPK mafia law in itself. "The case of Miranda Goeltom, a person who receiving bribes is apprehended, which gives no," he said.
Fourth is the head of KPK flirt with certain groups. The handling of corruption still slash select. "Strong actors, reversed the case up until now has not been solved completely. But that is solved by small, "said Adjie. (eh)
